Fifth ambulance acquired

The fifth ambulance acquisition by Ambulances for Ukraine (Ambulansseja Ukrainaan ry), has now been completed. The association has purchased a Mercedes Sprinter ambulance, previously used by the National Health Service in Western Finland.

For the purchase of the ambulance a sum of 15.000 euros was raised through donations, and the goal was reached on January 4, 2024. The ambulance was bought at an auction on January 12, 2024. The used 2016 model Mercedes Sprinter is equipped with a high-quality 3.0-liter diesel engine, a Webasto, and has only 250,000 kilometers on the clock. This emergency vehicle still has several years of service ahead.

To ensure the ambulance is ready for its duties in Ukraine, it is currently undergoing technical inspection and necessary maintenance. New tires are also being fitted. The association is still raising €2,000 to cover these additional costs. After these extra fittings and updates, the ambulance will be delivered to Ukraine by the association.
