A Warm Reception in Ukraine
Delivering ambulances to Ukraine requires precise planning and close cooperation with local authorities. This time, the reception in Ukraine was particularly welcoming. At the border, a customs major greeted the team and ensured the convoy’s smooth passage. A police escort guided the ambulances directly to Lviv Arena, where representatives receiving the vehicles and members of the press were waiting. Meetings and discussions with local officials highlighted the importance of this work and how much Finnish support is appreciated in Ukraine.
Support Makes This Work Possible
The procurement and delivery of ambulances would not be possible without donations and support from partners. In addition to numerous contributions from individual donors, significant support for this delivery was provided by Riga Wood Finland Oy, part of the Latvijas Finieris Group. The company has been actively supporting Ukraine, contributing in a particularly meaningful way. Latvijas Finieris has provided over 7 million euros in aid to Ukraine, with Riga Wood Finland’s share being approximately 1.2 million euros.
